450 jobs to go at BAE in Brough

Both house part of the company's Military Air Solutions business which employs around 10,500 people on five key military aircraft programmes, including the Typhoon, Nimrod, Hawk, the Joint Strike Fighter.

Officials expressed shock at the scale of the cuts. Union Unite said it would resist compulsory redundancies among the 450 job losses at Brough, home of the Hawk aircraft, and 134 job cuts at Woodford, the home of Nimrod.
