Cessna Presents Diamond Award to Channel Islands Aviation

Wichita, Kan., April 4, 2007 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, recognized Channel Islands Aviation, Inc. (CIA), with a Diamond Award for their excellence as a Cessna Pilot Center.
“The Channel Islands Aviation Flight School provides the very highest level of training for our customers. They participate in every Cessna program designed to develop safe, quality pilots. CIA sets a high standard”, said Jim Hackman, regional manager of Cessna Pilot Centers.
Channel Islands Aviation was founded in 1976 when Oxnard Air Force Base became Camarillo Airport. A full service Fixed Base Operation, CIA occupies two large hangars and 30,000 square feet of offices and classrooms. They are a Cessna CSTAR (Cessna Sales Team Authorized Representative) aircraft sales facility and an authorized Cessna Service Station.
Brumley Smith, manager, Cessna Pilot Centers, presented the award to CIA’s Sarah Oberman during a recent Cessna Pilot Centers Seminar in Tempe, AZ. “We are honored that Cessna has chosen us for recognition and excited to share this award with the instructors and staff at Camarillo,” said Oberman.
Cessna Aircraft Company has been teaching the world to fly for more than 35 years through its worldwide network of nearly 300 Cessna Pilot Centers. The average time for students to obtain their private pilot’s certificates while using Cessna’s computer based instruction-training course is almost 30 percent less than the national average. |
