Embraer delivered the first EMBRAER 170 jet to Régional – Compagnie Aérienne Européenne, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Air France Group. This is the first of a total of nine firm orders it has for the EMBRAER 170 from the French airline.
“The delivery of the first EMBRAER 170 to our largest customer in Europe, just two years after the airline received its first EMBRAER 190, is an especially proud moment for us,” said Mauro Kern, Embraer Executive Vice President, Airline Market. “It is gratifying to see that the operational flexibility and the commonality gains of the two E-Jets models in the same fleet will maximize the benefits to Régional and its discerning customers.”
Régional’s EMBRAER 170 is configured in a 76-seat single-class layout. It will enter service this week on its domestic and intra-European networks.
“We are very pleased to take delivery of our first EMBRAER 170 jet,” said Jean-Yves Grosse, Régional/Air France President and CEO. “The combination of the EMBRAER 170 and the EMBRAER 190 in the same fleet will give us greater flexibility, enabling us to rightsize aircraft to meet route demand and ensure optimum comfort for our passengers.”
As Embraer’s largest customer in Europe, Régional currently operates a total fleet of 48 Embraer aircraft (six EMBRAER 190s, 28 ERJ 145s, nine ERJ 135s, and five EMB 120 Brasilias). |
