With the recent signing of the Airworthiness and Release to Service certificate by Lieutenant-General Steve Lucas, Chief of the Air Staff, the Canadian Forces is another step closer to the arrival of their first C-17 Globemaster III.
As the Canadian Forces' Airworthiness Authority, the Chief of the Air Staff approves all new aircraft for service.
The C-17 will provide Canada with a world class strategic airlift capability - ensuring a rapid, reliable and flexible strategic airlift solution to moving heavy loads over long distances. The first aircraft is expected to arrive in Canada in early August.
