Piper Aircraft may be up for sale

Piper Aircraft Inc.'s parent company "may be shopping the company to prospective buyers," according to the national Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Piper executives on Monday called the item an unsubstantiated rumor.
The AOPA's Web site stated "reports circulating" at the AirVenture trade show in Oshkosh, Wis., last week indicated "American Capital Strategies, present owner of Piper Aircraft, may be shopping the company to prospective buyers."
