Bombardier Sells Two CRJ900 NextGen Aircraft To ALMA De Mexico

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that AeroLíneas MesoAmericanas “ALMA de México” has signed a firm order for two Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen regional jets.
The approximate value of the contract, based on the list price for the CRJ900 NextGen aircraft, is $74.4 million U.S.
A fast-growing Mexican regional airline based at Guadalajara, ALMA began operations in June, 2006. The airline currently operates 15 CRJ200 aircraft and serves 25 destinations in Mexico.
“Passenger traffic on routes developed by the Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft has increased to the point where we require higher capacity aircraft,” said Guillermo Heredia, President and Founder of ALMA. “Family commonality between the CRJ200 and CRJ900 NextGen regional jets made the CRJ900 NextGen product the logical choice.”
“Seventy-eight CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen aircraft have been ordered since January 1 of this year, with options and purchase rights taken on another 60 in that period,” said Steven Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Regional Aircraft. “Clearly, operating cost advantages have become powerful incentives favoring the selection of CRJ900 and CRJ900 NextGen regional jets by operators.
“In addition, customer response to the all-new CRJ NextGen cabin, which provides an enhanced passenger experience, has been outstanding,” Mr. Ridolfi said.
