GULFSTREAM G550 SETS NEW CITY-PAIR SPEED RECORD BETWEEN TOLUCA, MEXICO, AND STUTTGART, GERMANY

SAVANNAH, Ga., Jan. 31, 2007 – A Gulfstream G550 recently set a new city-pair speed record, flying 5,381 nautical miles in 10 hours and 11 minutes between Toluca , Mexico , and Stuttgart , Germany.
On the evening of Jan. 20, the ultra-long-range business jet took off from Toluca Airport, which is 8,458 feet above sea level. Piloted by Paulo Jancitsky, Gulfstream senior international captain, and Tony Briotta, Gulfstream international captain, the G550 flew 5,381 nautical miles at an average cruise speed of 0.85 Mach, landing the following day at Stuttgart Airport with 5,700 pounds of fuel remaining. In addition to the pilots and Suzie Gunn, the flight attendant, five passengers were onboard.
Gulfstream has submitted an application to the National Aeronautic Association to confirm this new city-pair record.
