During a ceremony at the 2007 Air Medical Transport Conference in the Tampa Convention Center, American Eurocopter delivered the first of six EC145 helicopters to Memorial Hermann Life Flight. On hand to accept the bright red EC145 were Life Director, Will David, and Director of Aviation Operations, Eric von Wenckstern. The Houston, Texas-based Memorial Hermann Life Flight is a long-time operator of Eurocopter rotary-wing aircraft. In 1976, the company started the second air medical program in the United States with an SA319B Alouette. Since then, Memorial Hermann has continued to operate Eurocopter products to save lives. For Memorial Hermann Life Flight operations, the aircraft will be configured to accommodate special mission equipment and medical personnel for neonatal transports and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) patients. We are very proud to have supported Memorial Hermann Life Flight for the past 31 years, declares Marc Paganini, president and CEO of American Eurocopter. Our state-of-the-art EC145s will provide the mechanism to keep Memorial Hermann Life Flight on the cutting edge of patient care and safety, and we look forward to a continued partnership in saving lives.
