Pratt & Whitney Canada, a United Technologies (NYSE:UTX) company, has signed a five-year agreement with Standard Aero for 531 new PT6A series engines under Pratt & Whitney Canada's Converter Enhancement Program.
Based on this agreement, Standard Aero Limited of Winnipeg, Man., will use the Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) engines for various turboprop aircraft upgrade programs under Supplemental Type Certificates.
"Our PT6A family continues to be the product of choice in this market, and the growing popularity of our Converter Enhancement Program with the PT6A further reinforces its reputation for dependability and unmatched support," said Eva Azoulay, Commercial Services Director, P&WC. "We are very pleased to continue building on our relationship with Standard Aero."
"Standard Aero's goal is to offer customers alternatives to engine overhaul and repair that will also add value," noted Paul Soubry, President of Standard Aero. "Pratt & Whitney Canada's new PT6A series engines have the power to fully meet both the current and future needs of this market."
P&WC's Converter Enhancement Program allows companies like Standard Aero that offer modifications and conversions to purchase and install new engines on specified aircraft.
P&WC provides a number of re-engine opportunities through its Fleet Services upgrade programs. Its Fleet Enhancement Program, for example, offers customers a new engine of the same type installed on the original aircraft. Its Converter Enhancement Program offers an alternate engine model delivering higher power. In both cases, the new engines carry P&WC's full engine warranty and aircraft service life may be increased.
P&WC engines are backed by the company's industry-leading global customer support, including a newly launched Customer First Centre for 24-7 frontline assistance, over 30 P&WC-owned and designated service facilities, field representatives on all major continents, mobile repair teams available around the clock, the largest pool of P&WC rental and exchange engines in the industry, and advanced diagnostic capabilities.
