Scott Tilden, 54, brought his sons to the annual air show at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on Sunday. "This event in general just makes oneself proud to be an American," he said. Slathered in sunscreen, with water bottles handy, more than 300,000 people took advantage of shade from canopies to watch stunts and get close looks at military aircraft, base officials estimated.
